Good Day Fellow MEAns,
A few weeks back, I got a text message asking me, “What are you most proud of in your organization?” And as much as I want to express myself, that one single text message would never do justice to the few months that I have shared as president of this great organization – MEA.
More than just your average student
Last month, I was witness to how bright the future of the organization is. Through the MEA bingo, I’ve seen a totally different side of MEAns. Yes, we are not all books and parties like what some people think; I am proud to say that MEAns indeed have heart. I have seen how much the whole team, together with volunteers, worked their hearts out (no pun intended) for an event for the LS staff and personnel. This I am proud of.
Empowerment
Also, I have seen how the 2YDCs, blockreps and core have worked into creating WIPEOUT –a sportsfest that would integrate the two batches. This showed me what the future of MEA could be in the future, and with that I can say that I was proud of even the young MEAns were empowered in that event.
All fired up!
And I have seen (and for some, I have been) in the meetings of the various pending projects of MEA, and I am just so glad to see how everyone is just so passionate about working for MEA. I would like to just give a special mention to the SOM week team of how flexible and professional they have been working despite unforeseen changes in schedule.
There are still endless stories that I could say right now of why I am proud of my organization. I just cited one instance in that text message, but I could never express that how only in a few months as president, I can truly say that I have made the right decision. I am excited to see how the remaining months of the school year will unfold.
MEAmore!
Jonn
